While we try to keep information (including standard pricing or service descriptions) accurate, we do not guarantee that all content is free from errors or omissions.
2. Intellectual Property
All content on this website, including text, graphics, logos, and website design, is the property of Logistics Today or our licensors and is protected by UK copyright laws.
You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any part of our website for commercial purposes without our express written consent.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree to use our website only for lawful purposes. You must not:
Submit false, fraudulent, or speculative quote requests or bookings.
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our site, servers, or databases (hacking).
Introduce viruses, trojans, or other malicious material.
4. Third-Party Links
Our website may contain links to third-party websites (e.g., tracking portals, partners, or social media). We have no control over the content of those sites and accept no responsibility for them or for any loss or damage that may arise from your use of them.
PART B: LOGISTICS AND CARRIAGE OF GOODS
These rules apply the moment you request a quote or book a transport service with us.
5. Sub-Contracting and Brokerage
Right to Sub-contract: We frequently act as a freight broker. We reserve the right to sub-contract the carriage of your goods to any Third-Party Carrier without prior notice.
Third-Party Terms Apply: Because we utilize a network of different carriers, the specific terms, conditions, and cancellation policies of the fulfilling Third-Party Carrier will apply to your booking in addition to these Terms. Any penalties, waiting time charges, or cancellation fees imposed on us by the sub-contractor due to your actions will be passed directly to you.
6. Quotes, Bookings, and Cancellations
Quotes: All quotes are based on the specific weights, dimensions, and locations you provide. If the actual goods differ upon collection, we reserve the right to refuse carriage or apply a surcharge.
Cancellations: Unless otherwise stated at the time of booking, cancellations made within 24 hours of the scheduled collection time will incur a minimum cancellation fee of [e.g., 50% to 100%] of the total invoice.
Carrier-Specific Rules: If the assigned sub-contractor requires a longer cancellation notice (e.g., 48 hours), you are bound by their timeframe.
Wasted Journeys: If a driver arrives at the collection point and the goods are not ready, or the collection fails due to incorrect information, 100% of the transport cost remains payable.
7. Waiting Time (Demurrage)
Quotes include a standard loading/unloading time of [e.g., 15 minutes for vans, 45 minutes for HGVs].
Delays beyond this allowance at collection or delivery points will be charged at a demurrage rate of [e.g., £45.00 per hour or part thereof], or the specific rate dictated by the sub-contracted carrier.
8. Client Responsibilities
Packaging: All goods must be adequately and securely packaged for road transport. We accept no liability for damage resulting from insufficient packaging.
Prohibited Goods: You must not hand over hazardous materials, illegal substances, firearms, cash, or living creatures unless expressly agreed in writing prior to booking.
9. Limitation of Liability
Transit Liability: Unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing and subject to additional insurance premiums, our liability for loss or damage to goods in transit is strictly limited to [e.g., £1.30 per kilogram] of the gross weight of the lost or damaged goods, in accordance with standard UK haulage conditions.
No Consequential Loss: Under no circumstances shall Logistics Today be liable for indirect, consequential, or special losses, including but not limited to loss of profit, loss of a contract, or penalties incurred by you due to delayed delivery.
Force Majeure: We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events outside our control (severe weather, traffic incidents, strikes, road closures).
10. Claims and Right of Lien
Time Limits: Claims for damaged goods must be reported in writing within 3 days of delivery. Claims for lost goods must be reported within 7 days of the anticipated delivery date.
Right of Lien: We (and our sub-contractors) have a general lien on all goods in our possession for all monies owed to us by you. If a debt remains unpaid for [e.g., 28 days], we reserve the right to sell or dispose of the goods to recover the debt and associated costs.
PART C: GENERAL LEGAL TERMS
11. Payment Terms
All invoices are payable within [e.g., 7 or 30 days] of the invoice date unless pre-approved credit terms apply.
Late payments will incur interest at the statutory rate of 8% above the Bank of England base rate, plus compensation for debt recovery costs under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
12. Governing Law
These Terms, and any dispute arising from them, shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
